Something Cozy Is Coming...

It may be the middle of July, but behind the scenes at Willow Field Soap, something a little unexpected is happening...

While the Arizona sun is blazing outside, my soap studio is beginning to smell like crisp apples, fresh pine, warm spices, cozy woods, and all the comforting scents that make fall such a special season.

One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "Why do you make fall soap so early?"

The answer is simple: handmade cold process soap can't be rushed.

Every batch is carefully mixed, poured, and cut by hand. Then comes the hardest part—waiting! Each bar needs several weeks to cure before it's ready to use. During that time, excess water slowly evaporates, creating a harder, longer-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather. Giving the soap time to cure is one of the many steps that makes handmade soap such a wonderful experience.

So while most people are enjoying summer, I'm already planning ahead and creating the soaps you'll be reaching for when the mornings become cooler and pumpkin patches begin to open.

I have to admit, there's something a little magical about working on fall scents in the middle of summer. Even when it's over 100 degrees outside, the fragrance of fresh apples, evergreen trees, warm spices, and cozy woods makes my little soap studio feel like autumn has arrived early.

I'm not quite ready to reveal the entire fall collection just yet, but I can promise that some beloved favorites will be returning, along with a few beautiful seasonal scents that I can't wait to share with you.

If you love fall as much as I do, keep an eye on my website, Facebook page, and email newsletter over the next few weeks. I'll be sharing sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes photos, and announcing the fall collection before you know it.

Until then, I'm soaking up the last days of summer while quietly preparing for my favorite soap-making season of the year.

I can't wait to show you what's coming.
